Xiaomi has been doing well in the European market, taking most of the market that Huawei has stepped down over the past year. In particular, it achieved good results with a 40% market share in Spain, which is sensitive to price, and also ranked first in Belgium, Denmark, Russia, and Ukraine.

“This is a remarkable growth considering Xiaomi first entered the European market in November 2017,” Counterpoint Research said.

Samsung Electronics has entered the European market with a diversified portfolio in the widest range of companies. Although Xiaomi lost the No. 1 position in some regions in the second quarter, this is analyzed to be a temporary effect as factories were closed due to Corona 19 and production was disrupted in May and June.

Samsung Electronics still maintains the No. 1 position in many European markets, especially in Poland with a 42% market share. It also topped the charts in several countries, including Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway and Portugal.

Counterpoint Research said, “Russia, which accounts for a large portion of Europe, is recording shipments nearly double that of Germany, the second largest market. Excluding Russia, Samsung maintained its No. 1 position in the European market.” .

Apple performed well in Western Europe based on its premium phones. In particular, in the second quarter of this year, Apple took the first place in the UK with a market share of 44%, and also ranked first in Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Sweden and Switzerland.
