Yashaswi Jaiswal Wins ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award for February

Dubai: Indian opener Yashaswi Jaiswal won the ICC award for his brilliant performance in the Test series against England. Jaiswal won the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for February. Yashaswi Jaiswal, who scored 560 runs at an average of 112 in the three Tests against England in February, was unable to produce a threatening performance. India’s left-handed opener is a surprise with an ICC award at just 22 years old.

Meanwhile, among women, the award for the best player of the month went to Annabel Sutherland from Australia. Annabel’s overall performance in the Test series against South Africa helped her.

After losing the first match of the five-Test series against England, Team India came back strongly thanks to the strength of left-handed opener Yashaswi Jaiswal. India won the series 4-1. Jaiswal scored consecutive double centuries in the Visakhapatnam and Rajkot Tests held in February. Yashaswi Jaiswal hit 209 in Visakhapatnam and 214 in Rajkot. The player also surprised with 12 sixes in just one innings. Jaiswal scored 712 runs in 9 innings at an average of 89 when the five Test matches against England were completed. Yashaswi Jaiswal hit 68 fours and 26 sixes in the entire series.

India lost by 28 runs in the first match of the five-Test series against England in Hyderabad. But after this, Team India won the series by 106 runs in Visakhapatnam, 434 runs in Rajkot, five wickets in Ranchi and an innings and 64 runs in Dharamsala.
