Sung Kim’s visit to Korea… North Korean nuclear representatives from South Korea, the U.S. and Japan discuss North Korean missiles and coronavirus

U.S. State Department Special Representative for North Korea Sung Kim is visiting Korea to discuss North Korea issues among the three countries.

Kim Geon, head of the Korean Peninsula Peace Relations Headquarters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to meet tomorrow (3rd) with Representative Sung Kim and Takehiro Funakoshi, director of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Japanese Foreign Ministry to discuss North Korea’s successive provocations.

This meeting of the chief representatives of North Korea, the United States, Japan and South Korea is the first three-way meeting since Kim took office, and it is being held while North Korea is known to be preparing for its seventh nuclear test.

The US State Department explained, “CEO Sung Kim’s visit to Korea emphasizes the importance of continuous and close cooperation with South Korea and Japan on North Korean issues.”
