The trial of Daejang-dong, the ‘hot potato’ of Seocho-dong at the end of last year, resumed today (13th) after a month.

Kim Man-bae, a key figure who returned from self-harm, apologized in court, and Daejang-dong’s gang continued to fight, picking each other up.

Five so-called ‘Daejang-dong gang’ appeared in court in a month.

In promoting the Daejang-dong development project, he made a profit of at least 65 billion won to a private contractor and suffered damages to the Seongnam Urban Development Corporation.

This trial shook not only Seocho-dong but also Yeouido by making statements targeting Democratic Party representative Lee Jae-myung, after former Seongnam Urban Development Corporation chief Dong-gyu Yoo and Nam-wook’s lawyer were released from the prison due to an arrest ending.

However, the case was delayed when Kim Man-bae, a major shareholder of Hwacheon Dae-yu, a key figure in the allegations, tried to self-harm last month and was kept in hospital.

Mr Kim, who has been investigated with an acquaintance for concealing profits, said in court, “It was painful because for me, even the innocent people around me were in trouble.”

“(The people around you say you’re innocent, but you mean it too?)…”

Then, he lowered his head, saying, “I have collected my emotions, and I will cooperate so that there will be no disturbance to the trial from now on.”

Director Yoo Jeon, lawyer Nam, and Mr. Kim, who had a heated battle in and out of court, entered the courtroom without saying anything to reporters that day.

On this day, the trial focused on another party, the lawyer Jeong Min-yong, so there was no direct battle between the protagonists.

In addition, prosecutors prosecuted them for corruption charges following a violation of the Conflict of Interest Act the day before, and they were asked to be reviewed in conjunction with this trial.

The judge is expected to decide whether he will merge at the next date or not, but with more charges being brought, attention is being paid to the number of Daejang-dong gang fights.
