Bentuho, which featured Son Heung-min and Hwang Ui-jo as two up front, threatened the Costa Rica goal with Heung-min Son’s mid-range shot in the 13th minute of the first half.

The national team, who were constantly creating opportunities, managed to take the lead with Hwang Hee-chan’s opening goal in the 28th minute of the first half.

Right back Yoon Jong-gyu cut to the side and passed the ball, which Hwang Hee-chan connected with an accurate kick.

However, the national team, who seemed to be taking the lead, were dragged away by a 41st-minute first-half equalizer and an 18th-minute comeback goal as the defensive set-up collapsed.

The national team did not follow any luck, as Hwang Ui-jo’s shot hit the goal post.

But 36 minutes into the second half, we had another chance.

The Costa Rica goalkeeper who blocked Na Sang-ho’s penetration caught the ball outside the penalty box and was sent off.

The national team, who had a numerical advantage, continued to push Costa Rica, but no more goals were scored and the game ended 2-2.

“I am very sorry that I could not show the (good) result. I think the players must have felt many shortcomings. We will do our best to make the World Cup a light one.”

The national team, who confirmed their achievements and homework in the Costa Rica match, will move to Seoul on the 27th to play the final match against African powerhouse Cameroon.
