As the war between Russia and Ukraine continues for more than three months, there is also a possibility that Ukraine may attack interior Russia with weapons supported by the West.

In that case, the face of war would inevitably be different.

With the 100 days since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the possibility is raised that Ukraine will use weapons provided by the West, including the United States, differently than ever before.

Ukrainian invasion of Russia inland.

A U.S. government official, who requested anonymity, said: “There are concerns about escalation, but we don’t want to impose geographic restrictions on the weapons the U.S. government supports or to tie Ukraine’s hands too tightly.”

Russian officials have already claimed that Ukrainian forces have crossed the border several times, but Ukraine has never confirmed this claim.

The West is increasingly offering weapons with a longer range as Ukraine performs unexpectedly against Russia.

The United States provided the M777 howitzer with a caliber of 155 mm, and Denmark agreed to support the Harpoon anti-ship missile.

CNN reported that the U.S. government is poised to provide a state-of-the-art long-range rocket system to bolster Ukraine’s forces and is preparing for the process.

The weapons systems the United States is considering for assistance include the Multiple Launch Rocket Launcher (MLRS) and the High Speed Mobile Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) with a range of more than 300 km, which Ukraine has always requested.

However, it is known that the United States is also struggling with the ramifications of long-range rocket system support.

Reuters reports that the U.S. and Ukrainian governments have exchanged views about the risk of an escalation of war if a Western weapon attacks interior Russia.

“The fact that you can do that (weapons support), as well as the fact that you have serious concerns about the escalation that we’ve talked about many times, are not mutually exclusive.”

It is known that the US will announce a plan for military and security assistance to Ukraine as early as this week.
