Hossam Ghaly, a member of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahly Club, revealed the details of his crisis with Argentine Hector Cuper, the former coach of the national team, when he was leading the Pharaohs.

Hossam Ghaly said in television statements on the “DMC” channel: “Cupper did not know anything about Egyptian football, and I found him one time inside one of the rooms, telling me that you win with the referees, and I was surprised by his words. This is an Argentine man who does not know what this talk is about, and he knows “Who says this?”

He added: “And once again he said to me, ‘If I train a team in front of you, aiming for Al-Ahly, we will win against you.’ I was very, very surprised by his speech. The dispute was not due to Amr Gamal, but the crisis occurred in the presence of Osama Nabih.”

He explained: “Osama Nabih spoke to me about the crisis and assured me that he should not make a mistake against Amr Gamal in front of him, even though the crisis was completely over and the stadium was shaking because of my strength in training, and Cooper was putting me as a fifth player in the midfield after Elneny, Tariq Hamed, Ibrahim Salah, and Ahmed Tawfiq. “I thought I had the right to participate.”

He continued: “Captain Hassan Shehata, a big name in Zamalek, did not differentiate between Al-Ahly and Zamalek players. On the contrary, everyone loved him and provided the best level with him.”

He concluded his statements: “Shikabala is a great player, and I hope he behaves more smartly against the public, because the captaincy is a great responsibility.”
