YouTube Increases Minimum Age for Live Streaming to 16
YouTube, owned by Google, is increasing the minimum age requirement for creators to live stream on its platform. The change, confirmed on youtube’s Help support page, will require streamers to be at least 16 years old.Previously, the minimum age was 13.

After july 22, creators under 16 must have a parent or guardian present and visibly participating in the stream. YouTube specifies that the adult must be granted access to the channel as an editor, manager, or owner.
“If you’re under 16 and an adult is willing to live stream with you, you can give the adult access to your channel as an editor, manager or owner,” YouTube said.
