Angerme’s Yuki Hirayama Triumphantly Returns to Stage After Announcing Illness

On November 4th, the idol group “Angerme” held a performance for their autumn concert tour “ROOTS” at Pacifico Yokohama National Hall in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.

This concert marked the 10th anniversary tour since the group changed its name from “S/mileage” to “Angerme.” Both daytime and nighttime performances were sold out, with approximately 4,000 fans filling each venue, creating an electric atmosphere.

Member Yuki Hirayama, an 18-year-old from Kanagawa Prefecture, made her “triumph return” performance on this day. Fans affectionately called out her nickname, “Peipei,” before the performance and during the encore.

The audience seats were illuminated with light green penlights, and Hirayama expressed her happiness, saying, “I’m happy.”

On October 25th, Hirayama announced through her office that she was suffering from Behcet’s disease, an incurable condition that causes inflammation in various parts of the body. Despite this, she has vowed to continue her activities while consulting with doctors and taking necessary precautions.

This concert was Hirayama’s first performance since announcing her illness. For approximately two hours, the group performed energetically with smiles on their faces.

In a blog post, Hirayama declared her strong desire to continue her activities as a member of Angerme, stating that she still wants to pursue her passions and that giving up on her activities was not an option for her. Her decision to publicly announce her illness was a step towards continuing her career.

During the concert’s MC segment, Hirayama shed tears as she expressed her hopes that people would be glad she continues her activities. The fans responded with enthusiastic cheers, showing their support for her future endeavors.
