Yuki Tsunoda “I think the F1 US Grand Prix was the best race of the season” AlphaTauri Honda F1[F1-Gate .com]

Yuki Tsunoda of AlphaTauri Honda F1 believes that the F1 US Grand Prix was the best race of the rookie season so far.

At the F1 United States Grand Prix, Yuki Tsunoda finished in 9th place after the eight cars of the Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren teams. Yuki Tsunoda, who finished 10th in qualifying, was one of the two drivers who started with unfavorable soft tires with Carlos Sainz.

For Yuki Tsunoda, it was the first prize since he finished 6th in the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix.

“It was a good step,” said Yuki Tsunoda.

“I haven’t scored points for a while, and I think I’ve made a lot of progress, especially from Turkey. I made a big mistake in Turkey, but I improved that and brought the car home. I was able to”

“I think it was pretty consistent and I think it was the best race of the season despite these difficult conditions.”

“I think we need a lot of space. I have to learn and I just have to keep pushing and earn points more consistently.”

Yuki Tsunoda, who started from the 9th grid, held down Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas in the first half of the race. Even in the previous F1 Turkish Grand Prix, he showed a performance that suppressed Lewis Hamilton.

“Usually I lost quite a lot of positions on the first lap,” says Yuki Tsunoda.

“I was able to move up a few places this time and I went a little more aggressive than the other rounds. I think it was okay so I will continue.”

“I’m happy because my teammates were forced to retire unfortunately and I was responsible for scoring points, especially when thinking about the team championship.”

“In the end, even small points can make a lot of sense, so I’m happy with what I’ve accomplished.”

“It was certainly not an easy race. I had a hard time understeering the rear at high speed, but I managed to get the car home by communicating with an engineer to recover with the switch.”

“I think we’ve taken an even better step in communicating with engineers.”

Yuki Tsunoda says he knows where to improve for the race in the future.

“I think we need to adjust a little more from FP1. FP1 is 18th and FP2 is 18th, which can make engineers and teams question marks.”

“And we have to think a little more about our qualifying strategy, especially from the next round we need to improve them a bit more. Next time we’ll focus on those things.”
