Tokyo Game Show 2024: Japan Game Awards Winners Announced
The Tokyo Game Show 2024 officially kicked off today, September 26th, with the Japan Game Award ceremony taking place on the first day. The biggest winner of the night was ”The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” which took home the Grand Award, Excellence Award, and Best Sales Award.
“Fighting Tornado 6” also won two awards, including the Excellence Award and the Special Award.
The 2024 Japan Game Awards were based on game products sold locally in Japan from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, through general voting and Game Awards ratings from April 8 to July 19, followed by committee review.
This year, two new awards were introduced: the Major Breakthrough Award and the MOVEMENT Award, which were won by ”Exit 8″ and “Watermelon Game,” respectively.
