[국제]China’s aircraft carrier strike force protests Japan’s declaration of ‘possession of counter-attack capability’

[앵커]

On the day Japan finalized a security document that included a ‘counter-attack capability’ to strike an enemy missile base, China launched an aircraft carrier strike group and launched an armed demonstration.

China, in particular, strongly protests that Japan is exaggerating China’s threat and using it as an excuse to expand its military power.

A fleet led by the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning passed through Okinawan waters and headed for the Pacific Ocean.

The carrier strike group consisted of six ships, including the Liaoning, three guided-missile destroyers, a frigate, and a fast combat support ship.

China’s state-run Global Times reported that up to three 10,000-ton destroyers engaged the Liaoning warship.

It was emphasized that this is the most powerful combination ever as there was only one 10,000 ton class ship in the Liaoning warship in the past.

China’s move is interpreted as a warning message about revising security documents that state Japan has a ‘counter-attack capability’ that can attack enemy missile bases.

The Chinese government protested that Japan was exaggerating China’s threats without basis.

On the other hand, the United States, which emphasizes cooperation between South Korea, the United States and Japan, to contain China and prevent North Korean provocations in the Indo-Pacific region, greatly welcomed it.

After strongly protesting Japan’s claim to Dokdo in a security document, the South Korean government emphasized that it must consult with the South Korean government to exercise anti-aggression capabilities against North Korea.

However, since Japan is exercising its right to self-defense, it draws a line saying that there is no need to negotiate, leaving a spark of conflict between Korea and Japan.
