[국제]ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar “Proposal of a four-month ceasefire for humanitarian aid”

Eriwan Yusof, Myanmar’s special envoy to ASEAN, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, said that it had proposed a four-month ceasefire to all stakeholders in Myanmar to facilitate humanitarian aid operations in Myanmar.

In an interview with Kyodo News, Special Envoy Eriwan explained that he had a videoconference with Myanmar’s military and foreign minister, Unna Maung Lewin, on the 31st of last month, and that he proposed a ceasefire by the end of this year.

Special Envoy Eriwan noted that the military accepted his proposal and indirectly communicated it to the rebel camps as well.

Special Envoy Eriwan said that the first humanitarian aid at the ASEAN level would be made as early as the middle of this month.
