The Taliban, which has taken control of Afghanistan, have begun discussing the issue of disposing of the government’s 300,000-strong military force, Reuters reported.
A Taliban official said commanders and leaders had begun discussions about the future of Afghan troops.
It also started the registration process for weapons left behind by U.S. troops withdrawn from Afghanistan, the official added.
The official said the Taliban should not be blamed for the death toll from the recent chaos at Kabul airport as people flocked to flee the country.
