White House National Security Adviser Sullivan and Chinese Communist Party Politburo Yang Jiechi met in Luxembourg on the 13th.

It is said that they had a head-to-head meeting for a whopping four and a half hours.

Sullivan said he had conveyed concerns in particular that North Korea was preparing for another nuclear test.

Then he said we’ll see how things develop.

He also explained that he expressed concern over China’s veto on the UN Security Council resolutions on North Korea.

He added that he urged North Korea to respond to dialogue without preconditions and ordered cooperation from China.

The United States appears to be pushing ahead with communication between the leaders of the United States and China.

According to Bloomberg News, citing a source, a call could be made as early as next month.

Earlier, the Korean government also expressed the opinion to the United States that China’s role is important.

In the course of discussions between the US and China, the possibility of China’s aid to Russia and the issue of Taiwan are likely to be addressed.

However, there is an observation that North Korea issues, such as a nuclear test, which are identified as imminent, will be given priority, but Sullivan also confirmed that the North Korean issue is the main topic.
