The US Federal Bureau of Investigation and FBI rescue teams enter the synagogue with an armored personnel carrier on Saturday evening local time.

The people held hostage then quickly leave the synagogue.

The shooter, who took a hostage in a synagogue in Colliville, Texas, was killed during a rescue team’s entry operation.

The hostage-taker broke in just in the middle of a Saturday morning worship service.

They held four people hostage, including a Jewish priest, a rabbi, and shouted their demands, some of which were delivered through an online live worship service.

One of the hostages was first released after six hours while the criminal was confronted with the police.

The hostage-taker is said to have demanded the release of Apia Sidiki, a female scientist from Pakistan who is associated with the international terrorist group al-Qaeda.

Sidiki has been serving her life in a Texas state prison after she was caught holding a piece of paper with a 2008 terrorist plan on it.

The police have not disclosed the identity of the hostage, and are investigating the motive for the crime and whether it is related to an international terrorist group.
