Ukraine says 2,000 refugees are returning home after a successful counterattack against Russian forces in its second city of Kharkiv.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) also diagnosed the Russian military as failing.

Ukrainian forces are scouring every house in Kharkiv to see if there are any Russian troops left.
After weeks of fierce fighting, Ukrainian forces struggled to recapture the second city of Kharkiv, less than 40 kilometers from the Russian border.
Kharkiv was a strategic point along with Kiiu, Mariupol, and Eastern Donbas, but it was reclaimed.

The Ukrainian military said it had recovered about 40 bodies of Russian soldiers from a village near Kharkiv, where the Russians had retreated.
The retreating Russian forces are said to be moving to support the Donbas region.
Russia controlled 80% of Donbas, but Ukrainian forces are attempting a counterattack.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) also analyzed that the Russian military was failing.

“Ukrainians have expelled Russian troops from the city because they appear to have won the Battle of Kharkiv,” said the American think tank War Institute.

It is reported that 2,000 refugees are returning to their homes after the news of the Russian army’s retreat.
Governor Sinehuvov Kharkiv said there was still a possibility of an attack by Russian forces, but that key infrastructure was being gradually rebuilt.
However, experts predict that Russia’s control of large territories in southeastern Ukraine will likely lead to tough battles with long-range bombing over the next few weeks.
