As new COVID-19 patients began to appear in the metropolitan area, the utilization rate of intensive care beds in the metropolitan area exceeded 83%.
The government announced the results of the Corona 19 risk assessment for the first time since the phased recovery of daily life, and the risk level in the metropolitan area was ‘very high’, which was the highest level.

The number of new COVID-19 cases is around 2,800, but as of Monday’s announcement, it is the highest number ever.
Even if the number of holiday tests has significantly decreased, the spread has not stopped, and the number of severe cases is still in the 500 range and the death toll is over 20 every day.
In the metropolitan area, where more than 80% of patients are concentrated, the utilization rate of intensive care beds reaches 83.3%, including 84.9% in Seoul.
The utilization rate of intensive care units in the metropolitan area is steadily increasing.
As there was a shortage of beds, the number of people waiting for more than a day in the metropolitan area also exceeded 900.
In the metropolitan area, the daily average number of confirmed cases last week increased by 27% compared to the previous week.
Accordingly, the government diagnosed the risk of COVID-19 outbreak as ‘very high’ in the metropolitan area, ‘medium’ in non-metropolitan areas, and ‘high’ nationwide.
This is an increase of two levels compared to the previous week.

The weekly death toll rose from 127 to 161.
One of the key indicators, the rate of confirmed patients over the age of 60 has also steadily increased recently, leading to an increase in the number of patients with severe cases and deaths.
