The prosecution believes that CEO Lee was in a position to report and approve everything as the mayor of Seongnam at the time of the development project.
The prosecution’s ruling is that the Daejang-dong project caused property damage to the city and the corporation gained by driving 780 billion in unfair profit to private businesses and set the corporation’s dividend profit at 180 billion won.
In this process, it is also believed that the inner secrets of the city and the corporation, such as the development method and the plan to open the Seopangyo Tunnel, were leaked to private contractors.
The key to the corruption in Wirye New City is that CEO Lee, who was the mayor at the time, approved the review of the business method and private distribution of profits, and drove 21 billion won from unjust profits for private businessmen.
It is also the subject of an investigation where the money taken care of in this way eventually flowed, and the suspicion that Mr. Kim Man-bae, the main shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu, promised to transfer 42.8 billion worth of development profits. to Lee’s side seems doubtful.
It is known that the prosecution has prepared more than a hundred A4 paper questions today, as the duration of the Daejang-dong project alone is 10 years, and the doubts involved are huge.
It appears that CEO Lee will prepare a written statement as in Seongnam FC’s previous investigation into suspicion.
The battle of nerves between the prosecutors and CEO Lee, who had not been able to close the gap in terms of date, time, and number of attendance before the investigation, is expected to continue during today’s investigation.
