As of 00:00 today, a total of 3,928 new confirmed cases were counted.

Although 140 fewer than the previous day, it is the highest number of confirmed cases based on Sunday’s announcement alone.

The number of new confirmed cases has risen from 3,900 to 4,000 for five consecutive days after exceeding 4,000 for the first time on the 24th.

Looking at the route of infection, 3,893 cases occurred in Korea and 35 cases were imported from abroad.

77.8% of domestic outbreaks occurred in Seoul and other metropolitan areas.

Both severe cases and deaths were at record highs.

First, there were 647 cases of severe cases, an increase of 13 from the previous day, and the number of deaths related to COVID-19 reached 56.

The fourth COVID-19 pandemic, which started in early July, has been going on for more than four months.

The number of confirmed patients is increasing much faster than expected after the phased recovery of daily life.

As a result, concerns are emerging that the medical capacity is reaching its limits, especially in the metropolitan area.

As of 5 p.m. yesterday, 85.4% of the hospital beds for critically ill patients in the metropolitan area were in use.

The utilization rate of hospital beds for critically ill patients across the country also reached 75%, which was suggested by the government as a standard for triggering an emergency plan to stop daily life.

The number of patients waiting for more than a day in the metropolitan area to be assigned a bed reached 1,265 as of 00:00 today.

The number of patients waiting in hospital beds exceeded 1,000 for three days in a row, an increase of 98 from the previous day.

The government is scheduled to hold a special quarantine inspection meeting presided over by President Moon Jae-in tomorrow and finally decide and announce the comprehensive quarantine measures.

We are considering a plan to set the validity period of the quarantine pass to 6 months after completing the basic vaccination.

In addition, the atmosphere is considering whether to limit the size and business hours of private gatherings to 10 people, including 4 people who have not been vaccinated.
