On the 29th, the Blue House dismissed the controversy over Kim Jung-suk’s official costume, the wife of President Moon Jae-in, saying, “They are making baseless claims, including the use of special activity expenses, but it is not true at all.”
Shin Hye-hyeon, deputy spokesperson for the Blue House, held a briefing on the same day and said, “During my tenure, I never used the national budget for the purpose of purchasing clothing, such as special expenses, and I paid it with my own money.”
Chanel clothes with Hangeul written on them, worn by Mrs. Kim, are currently on display. Deputy Spokesperson Shin said, “It is regrettable that we are recklessly making claims that are different from the facts under the pretext that it is difficult to disclose them in detail for reasons such as defense, foreign affairs and security.”
