Prime Minister Kim Bu-gyeom announced on the 26th that there is no change in the ‘With Corona’ plan, which will transition to a gradual recovery of daily life at the end of next month. Although the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is rapidly increasing recently, the company announced its intention to promote daily recovery as scheduled in consideration of the completion of vaccination and the economic burden of small business owners and self-employed people.

In a special interview with the local private broadcasting association broadcast on the morning of the same day, Prime Minister Kim said, “At the end of October, 70% of the people will be vaccinated. Then, as the next step, we will be able to go not only to quarantine, but also to a step-by-step recovery of daily life.”

“It is a very difficult situation to ask the people who have been cooperating for a year and eight months to be patient forever,” he said. However, he emphasized that even if we enter the phase of gradual daily recovery, we have to endure inconveniences such as continuing to wear masks.

Prime Minister Kim predicted that the time to return to daily life before COVID-19 would be around the end of this year.

He said, “If an ‘edible medicine’ comes out at the end of this year, in the United States, etc., will mankind be in a relatively advantageous position in the fight against the plague and return to our daily life?”

Prime Minister Kim selected balanced regional development and carbon neutrality as tasks for future generations. Regarding the relocation of public institutions in the metropolitan area to an additional innovative city, he said, “We will be able to hold a somewhat bigger thread this fall.” Prime Minister Kim said, “Many large institutions have already moved to regional innovative cities. He said, “We are considering a number of considerations as we believe that the proper relocation of these institutions will help local innovation.”

Regarding the carbon-neutral plan, the National Greenhouse Reduction Target (NDC) to be announced next month was presented at 40%. This means reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than 40% of 2018 emissions by 2030.

Prime Minister Kim said, “Companies say that it is impossible to achieve the target of 40%, so we have to work together. Carbon neutrality is essential for survival.”
