Former Minister Won ran as a candidate for the People Power Party in the Gyeyang-gu constituency in Incheon this year. In addition, he ran against Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung and lost by a margin of 7,749 votes (8.67%) to Lee Jae-myung, who received 48,365 votes (54.12%).

The Gyeyang-gu district has traditionally been a difficult area favorable to Democratic Party candidates. Despite this, former Minister Won contested the general election and performed admirably.

Former Minister Won said that this election was the one in which he worked hardest. Over the past two months, I wandered through the alleys of Gyeyang-gu and met with residents.
