The Russian military also used cruise missiles on the 25th (local time) to destroy arsenals and fuel bases in northern and southern Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
In a press release on the 26th, the Ministry of National Defense claimed, “In one day the previous day, the ammunition and arsenal in the Velikikorovinci region of Zitomir Province (northern Ukraine) was destroyed with the high-precision cruise missile ‘Kalibr’ deployed at sea.”
The Kalibr missile was launched from a small missile ship belonging to the Black Sea Fleet, the Ministry of National Defense said.
The Ministry of National Defense also explained, “The high-precision cruise missile ‘Onyx’ destroyed the Mykolai space fuel base, which was refueling the Ukrainian forces in southern Ukraine.”
The Kalibr is an anti-ship and land cruise missile launched from surface ships and submarines. The Onyx is a supersonic anti-ship cruise missile that is also used to strike ground targets.
The Russian military, which has slowed its ground advance, is conducting an operation to intensively strike major military facilities across Ukraine with cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.
