[정치]Kim Jong-un, who has been quiet for over a month… The longest stealth this year

[앵커]

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sometimes goes undercover, but he hasn’t appeared in public for over a month now.

It is the longest stealth this year, and attention is focused on when and with what message it will appear again.

Reporter Han Yeon-hee reports.

On the 11th of last month, at the National Defense Exhibition, Chairman Kim Jong-un demanded the withdrawal of the double standard and hostile policy toward South Korea and the United States.

Since then, there has been no public activity for over a month.

The younger sister, Yeo-jeong Kim, who is in charge of external messages, is also silent.

Missile tests, which were conducted five times in September and October alone, are also steadily being launched, but are not being fired.

It is an analysis that North Korea’s modest mode of action focused on building internal achievements while also taking into account external circumstances.

This is because, after President Moon Jae-in issued the end-of-war declaration card again, South Korea and the US diplomatic authorities have been actively meeting, but there are no tangible results yet.

As North Korea has passed the ball to South Korea and the United States by emphasizing the prerequisites several times, it seems that they are watching the situation and looking at the next move.

First of all, as the end of the year approaches and this year is the 10th year in power, it is expected to move again soon.

[차덕철 / 통일부 부대변인 : 내부결속 그리고 5개년 계획 첫 해의 성과 결산 등 여러 수요가 있기 때문에 관련 동향을 지속 지켜보겠다는 말씀을 드립니다.]

However, it is observed that the next external message may come out later than a year if no significant progress is made in the discussion of the end of the war between Korea and the United States.
