Kottayam: The father of a 10-year-old girl who was tortured in Kurichi has died. The owner of a grocery store who molested a girl for a month was arrested on Saturday. Yogidasan (74), a native of Kurichi, was arrested. The boy’s father has been suffering from severe depression since then.
The police arrested the accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by the child’s parents. Yogidasan was running a grocery store in Changanassery. He allegedly molested the girl when she went to the shop to buy goods.
The accused had also given sweets to the child so as not to divulge the information. The abuse came to light when the parents asked about the child’s behavior. The accused has been remanded by the court.
