The aftermath of the strike by the Cargo Solidarity is also affecting domestic export and import companies. In particular, the problem of penalties due to disruptions in raw material procurement and delays in exports was found to account for a large proportion.

The Korea International Trade Association (Korea International Trade Association) announced on the 9th that a total of 112 complaints related to the freight strike were received from May 31 to June 8. Among them, 44 cases (39.3%) were related to import problems and 68 cases (60.7%) were reported to export difficulties.

The major import difficulties are â–łdisruption in raw material procurement (19 cases), â–łstop production (12 cases), and â–łincrease in logistics costs (13 cases). The major export difficulties were counted as â–łdelayed delivery (25 cases), â–łincurring penalties (29 cases), and â–łshipping delays (14 cases).

Company A, a company that sells chemical products, was unable to transport imported raw materials to its headquarters, resulting in approximately 200 million won in damage. Company B, an exporter of rail vehicle parts, reported that it could incur losses of up to hundreds of millions of dollars because it could not take out cargo imported from China.

The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) is â–łReceiving complaints and suggestions from the government â–łCalling for strike reconsideration (May 30) â–łJoint statement (June 2) â–łCollecting information through regional headquarters and its own network â–łSurveying demand for military consignment trucks and Emergency Transportation Committee ( The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) are planning to respond to suggestions.
