12 People Injured in Resort Balcony Collapse During Photo Accident in Thailand

According to the head of the JTBC incident on the 8th, 12 women attending a village health volunteer seminar at a resort in Chiang Mai, Thailand suffered major and minor injuries when the resort balcony collapsed.

The girls were attacked while taking pictures on the resort’s 4m high balcony. The video also showed a woman who was trying to take a photo from across the street, unable to move in shock when she fell. People on the first floor also stepped back in horror after witnessing the fall. Those who fell are said to have suffered injuries such as cuts and bruises.

An employee of the resort in question said, “The garden is usually visible and people take a lot of pictures,” and “Nobody knew the balcony was unsafe.”

The investigation revealed that the railings they were standing on had been illegally extended without permission. It is also known that the accident occurred due to the use of poor construction materials.

The authorities said during the investigation on the site, “If anything is found to be wrong, we intend to close it completely.”
