(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jeong Bit-na = North Korea fired a projectile of an unknown type into the East Sea on the 17th, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff made this statement through a text message sent to the reporters at 8:56 a.m. on the same day. Specifications such as range, altitude, and speed are said to be under analysis.
The launch today comes three days after North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles from a train on the 14th.
In particular, starting with the first armed protest in the new year on the 5th, it is already the fourth armed protest.
Military authorities promptly notify the media when a ballistic missile is detected.
