Mission Viejo, Calif. — Four-star wide receiver vance Spafford, a long-time Georgia Bulldogs commit, has switched his allegiance to the Miami Hurricanes, sources confirmed monday. Spafford is ranked No. 96 in the ESPN 300 for the 2026 class.
Spafford, who had been committed to Georgia since Nov. 5, 2024, recently visited the Athens, Ga. campus on June 13. The 5-foot-10 receiver,however,had been considering othre options. Visits to Washington and UCLA, along with interest from Southern California, preceded his decision to join the Hurricanes.
Known for his route-running skills, Spafford has amassed 2,593 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns in the past two seasons. In 2023, he helped Mission Viejo High School secure a state title. Last fall, he recorded 57 receptions for 1,017 yards and 14 touchdowns. ESPN ranks Spafford as the No. 14 wide receiver in the 2026 class.
The addition of Spafford elevates Miami’s 2026 recruiting class. He becomes the Hurricanes’ second-highest-ranked commit, behind five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell.
