2. Consume foods with low purine content

Foods rich in purines can increase uric acid levels. According to a study published in the US National Library of Medicine, adopting a low-purine diet can greatly assist in reducing uric acid levels in the body.

Foods low in purine:

Vegetables: Ensure a diet rich in vegetables, such as leafy greens, bell peppers, cucumbers and carrots.

– Low-fat milk

People with increased uric acid should eat a diet rich in fiber. According to a study published in the MDPI Nutrients Journal, fiber aids in the absorption and removal of excess uric acid in the blood.

Some ways to increase fiber consumption:

– Make sure your meals always include a variety of fruits and vegetables.
