The Department of Sports and Physical Training requested the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to strictly handle violations, related to the case of 5 Hong Linh Ha Tinh players being arrested for drug use.

On the afternoon of May 8, Ha Tinh Provincial Police posted information about the discovery and arrest of 10 men and women using drugs, of which 5 were football players from the Hong Linh Ha Tinh football club.

They are striker Dinh Thanh Trung, midfielder Nguyen Trung Hoc, defenders Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Nguyen Van Truong and goalkeeper Duong Quang Tuan.

Immediately after receiving the information, Mr. Dang Ha Viet – Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports Dang Ha Viet had a discussion with President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan, requesting strict handling of the violations. case of violations.

Previously, in the afternoon of the same day, the VFF Disciplinary Committee issued decision No. 277/QD-LDBĐVN, temporarily suspending these 5 players from playing until a replacement decision is made.

In addition, the Vietnam Football Federation also sent an official dispatch to clubs participating in national football tournaments, requesting to strengthen the management and education of their players.

In the official dispatch, VFF stated: “Leaders and coaching staff of clubs/teams need to continue to uphold a sense of responsibility and strengthen management, actively coordinating with local authorities.” ways to strengthen educational organizations to raise awareness of the harmful effects of addictive substances and compliance with legal regulations for players.
