The UK government announced on the 15th (local time) that there were 78,610 new cases, surpassing the 68,53 recorded on 8 January this year. The previous day, there were 59,610 people.

The death toll (within 28 days after testing positive) is 165.

As of 11 days, 774 people were hospitalized.

Britain’s Health and Safety Agency (HSA) Commissioner Jenny Harris told the House Transport Committee on the same day that “compared to the rate of increase in the number of cases during the previous mutation, the number coming out in the next few days will be quite shocking,” Sky News reported.
