Jax Taylor Apologizes for His Role on ‘The Valley’ Amidst Divorce
Jax Taylor, 45, has publicly addressed his recent behavior on the reality show “The Valley,” expressing remorse to his estranged wife, brittany Cartwright, 36, and viewers.The apology follows scenes of anger and conflict aired on the show, which have drawn criticism.
During an appearance on “What What Happens live with Andy Cohen” on Tuesday, Taylor acknowledged the negative feedback he has received. Cohen, 57, confronted Taylor about messages suggesting he shouldn’t be given a platform, prompting Taylor’s apology.
Taylor admitted embarrassment over his actions. He is currently navigating his role and responsibilities amid a divorce from cartwright, with whom he shares a 4-year-old son, Cruz.
The reality star also reflected on an episode of “The valley” where he and Jason Caperna confronted Danny Booko about his relationship with alcohol. Taylor has been open about his own past struggles with substance abuse, including a 30-day rehab stint in the summer of 2024.
One particularly controversial moment involved Taylor admitting to an “unhinged rage” after accusing Cartwright of cheating during the season 2 premiere. Cartwright stated that a flipped coffee table struck her knee during the incident.
“Nobody should ever have to deal with the way I acted, nobody should ever have to deal with, you know, verbal abuse from anybody. I’m really sorry that people had to see all that,” Taylor said.
Taylor confirmed his remorse toward Cartwright, describing the past year as “very, very, very tough” for both of them.
Taylor also provided an update on his sobriety, telling Cohen he is “201 days sober” and attending regular therapy sessions that include drug testing. “I want to be held accountable,” Taylor stated, adding that Cartwright also has drug tests available at their home.
However, Taylor emphasized that sobriety is not his only focus. ”To be honest with you, right now, that [drugs] isn’t my issue,” he said. “I’ve got a lot of other issues that I’ve got to deal with. My ego, my anger, my control, my manipulation, all these things.”
