Enzo Amore WWE Exit Anniversary: 8 Years Later

by David Thompson - Sports Editor

Eight years after ⁣his release from World Wrestling Entertainment,⁤ nZo -⁤ formerly known as Enzo Amore - reflected on the anniversary Friday, posting a video‍ to social media about ⁣his departure.

WWE released the 39-year-old on January 23, 2018, following a sexual⁤ assault allegation filed against him in Phoenix the prior October. ⁢Police investigated⁤ the claim but closed the ⁤case in May 2018,⁤ citing insufficient evidence to file charges.

“8 years ago today, I lost my dream⁣ job @wwe,” nZo wrote⁣ in the caption accompanying the⁤ video.

The ⁢video is⁢ professionally‍ produced and includes interviews with his ⁢sister and wrestler Big Bill, among others.

In the video, nZo recalls⁣ advice from the late Dusty Rhodes, ‍who ‍told⁢ him, “You can be good, you can be bad, or you can be diffrent. And you are different.”

Big Bill added, “He’s a one of one on ⁣planet Earth. 8 billion people and there ‍is one Enzo.”

nZo currently holds the Flyweight‍ Championship for 4th Rope Wrestling, a promotion run by WestSide Gunn. ‍he⁢ also ⁢made an appearance on TNA programming last year to promote ⁣the company and ⁣remains active on ‌the independent wrestling circuit.
