Italian Gymnastics Gains Prominent Platform with Sportface TV Extension
The Italian Gymnastics Federation (FGI) and Sportface have announced a new two-year agreement, ensuring the continuation of “Volare Tv” – the FGI’s dedicated channel – as a key feature of the Sportface platform through 2026, and 2027. This partnership expands Sportface’s offerings, which already include Atletica Italiana TV, Taekwondo Plus, Tiro a Volo TV, Assalto la Tv della Scherma, Climbing Tv, and Aci Sport Tv, with the ambition of establishing a central hub for Olympic and other sports.
Top events, regular season competitions, and finals of Serie A1, alongside the Italian Absolute Championships in Artistic, Men’s, Women’s, and Rhythmic Gymnastics, Gold competitions in Aerobic Gymnastics, the City of Jesolo Trophy, and the Grand Prix, will be produced by the FGI and broadcast on tv.sportface.it. Access to these events will remain free of charge with required registration, benefiting gymnastics enthusiasts.
The agreement extends beyond these events. The FGI holds the rights to the World Cup circuits for both small and large apparatuses and will broadcast all six GAM and GAF stages – Cottbus, Baku, Antalya, Cairo, Osijek, and Doha – live and exclusively on Sportface, with Italian commentary. The four Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cups – Sofia, Tashkent, Baku, and Milan – will be available on the platform on demand, one week after their live broadcasts on #La7Ritmica.
The FGI intends to create a comprehensive archive on “Volare Tv,” providing easy access to important national and international gymnastics competitions, excluding World and European Championships, which remain the responsibility of Eurovision and RAI.
The FGI’s team of commentators, consisting of Giorgia Baldinacci, Marcello Brancaccio, and Ilaria Brugnotti, will be supported by the technical expertise and preparation of Ilaria Colombo, Andrea Massaro, Marta Pagnini, and other knowledgeable figures from the gymnastics community, including former athletes and competition officials. This specialized team aims to enhance the viewing experience for both seasoned fans and newcomers.
Coverage begins this weekend with the Cottbus finals, starting at 2:00 PM, featuring the finals for Men’s Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Rings, Women’s Vault, and Uneven Bars on Saturday, February 21st, and Men’s Vault, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bar, Women’s Beam, and Floor Exercise on Sunday, February 22nd. Marcello Brancaccio will provide commentary alongside Carmen Basla, an international judge.
The season will also include the Italian stage of the World Gymnastics Trampoline Circuit, held in Riccione, and the World Acrobatics Championships in Pesaro. The FGI and Sportface will prioritize coverage of major events, focusing on those with longer programs and dividing coverage across days. Coverage of A2 artistic gymnastics competitions and the Serie B league will not be included in the televised broadcasts.
Tickets for events can be purchased on Vivaticket, the new “Official Ticketing Partner” of the Federginnastica: EVENTS MODENA GINNASTICA ARTISTICA 2026.
Beyond live events, Sportface Tv will also feature special content, including in-depth features such as “One for All – Individual Project,” with interviews with Italian Rhythmic Gymnastics individual athletes, “Farfalle – New Generation,” “Fate – California Dreaming” featuring the Italian Women’s Artistic Gymnastics team, and “Gamba – L’ItalGAM to Los Angeles,” focusing on the Italian Men’s Artistic Gymnastics team. The two seasons of “Fate,” the web series created by GAI in collaboration with the FGI, will be available on “Volare Tv,” offering a behind-the-scenes look at the journeys of Alice and Asia D’Amato, Giorgia Villa, Elisa Iorio, and Martina Maggio before their Olympic dreams became reality.
Viewers can access Sportface Tv starting this weekend, with further coverage from Modena to follow. As stated, gymnastics is “La Grande Bellezza,” but on Volare, it becomes “da Oscar!”
