“A mother rides her daughter and runs 130km in a lane?”… Sudden accident, at the end of the National Forensic Service, Attorney Han Moon-cheol ‘one shot’ (‘Hanvely’)

[스포츠조선 고재완 기자] Attorney Moon-Cheol Han gave his opinion on a bill proposal related to sudden acceleration.

In JTBC’s ‘Han Moon-cheol’s Black Box Review’ (hereafter referred to as Hanvely), broadcast on the 23rd, we talked about the sudden acceleration disaster.

In a video presented by a lawyer, a car running at high speed down a lane in a residential area in the middle of the night collided with a car parked nearby and overturned.

The vehicle was running at 130 km on a narrow road, and Lee Soo-geun was surprised that “it can’t be a situation other than drunk driving or drug addiction.”

However, a lawyer said, “A mother in her 50s and a daughter in her 20s were riding in the car,” and released black box video.

An interview with the mother who drove the vehicle was also released. The mother insisted, “I turned off the engine and hit the brakes a few times, but I couldn’t help it.” However, as a result of the EDR analysis by the Korean Transport Safety Authority, there were no traces of brake operation, and it was concluded that it was a ‘driver negligence’ accident caused by stepping on the accelerator pedal all the way.

In response, Pilsoo Kim, a professor at Daelim University, argued, “This is a typical sudden acceleration accident. The possibility is very high.” A lawyer also said, “It really doesn’t make sense that the driver kept pressing the accelerator pedal,” but said, “The police are looking at the EDR results first. In the case of the sudden acceleration accident in Gangneung, the National Forensic Service concluded that there was no problem with the car.”

He also reported a small SUV accident that happened in Gangneung. The vehicle ran at an alarming speed on a road in Gangwon-do, then went airborne and crashed into a drainage ditch. It also included the voice of the driver, a grandmother, anxiously calling her grandson’s name before the crash. However, in the end, the grandson lost his life in the accident, and the grandmother was seriously injured and charged with breaching the Special Traffic Accident Act.

In response, Soo-geun Lee said, “People who are unfair and grieving must disappear.”

A lawyer said, “It is not the victim who proves it, but the car manufacturer, who has to find the defect. A bill emphasizing the burden of proof on the car manufacturer has been proposed in Office of the Vice-President of the National. Assembly.” I hope it will be changed and done right,” he said.
