Sayaka Isoyama, a Japanese talent and dog lover, recently expressed her concerns about pet owners leaving their dogs unattended in the scorching heat. On her X (formerly Twitter) account, she shared her thoughts about the dangers of tying up dogs outside stores while shopping.
Isoyama, who has a dedicated Instagram account for her pet dog Lily, was shocked by the sight of a dog being left unattended in the heat. She warned pet owners, “Usually I watch over them until they come home, but today there was another person watching over them, so I’ll leave them to them. Pet owners who see this, please don’t do this.” She also reflected on her past experiences, “I know I’m saying this, but when I first got my pet, I also bought some things. I thought it would only be for a short time. Nothing happened, but after that I found out that I had taken my pet away, gotten it lost, or injured it, so I regretted it and don’t do it anymore. I also check the ground with my bare feet.”
Her post received many sympathetic comments from fellow animal lovers, who shared their own concerns about the welfare of dogs left unattended in the heat. Some comments included, “It’s hot even under normal circumstances, especially since it’s so close to the ground,” “No one is qualified to keep a living creature – only people who can do the same thing to their own children,” and “What a kind person! If I saw a pet tied up in front of a store, I would watch over it until its owner arrived!”
Isoyama’s warning serves as a reminder to pet owners to prioritize their dogs’ safety and well-being, especially during the hot summer months. By speaking out about this issue, she hopes to raise awareness and encourage responsible pet ownership.
