The incident, which occurred between midnight and 1:30 a.m., left residents terrified. One resident reported seeing a man and a woman abducted. The woman was later found within the estate, released by her captors for reasons that remain unclear. The total number of kidnap victims remains unconfirmed.
The resident described a fierce exchange of gunfire between the kidnappers and police, who arrived around 1 a.m., lasting about 30 minutes. The armed group reportedly overpowered the local vigilance team.
“The incident happened around 12am. Those guys were well-armed, and they overpowered the local vigilance team. The police came at about 1am, and there was a fierce exchange of gunfire for about 30 minutes.”
Community members are urgently requesting government intervention to improve road access for security vehicles.
