Ukrainian actress Mila Kunis, who raised 42.5 billion won in donations to help refugees, took the stage.

[밀라 쿠니스/배우 : 상상할 수도 없는 어둠 속에서도 계속 싸울 힘을 찾는 이들을 경외하지 않을 수 없습니다.]

Thirty seconds of silence began with one word from Kunis.

On a large screen on an empty stage, the phrase “We can do more together” was displayed.

The filmmakers who attended also gave strength to Ukraine.

[제이미 리 커티스/배우 : (이 반지는) 우크라이나 사람들과 함께한다는 정치적 성명입니다.]

From a blue ribbon ring promising to be with refugees to a handkerchief in the color of the Ukrainian flag, each expressed solidarity in different ways.

[에밀 셔먼/영화 프로듀서 : 우크라이나에서 무슨 일이 일어나는지 알면서도 이 턱시도를 입고 여기 있는 건 정말 정말 이상한 일입니다.]

The most decisive and heaviest voice was the words sent the day before the awards ceremony.

[숀 펜/배우·감독 : 젤렌스키 우크라이나 대통령에게 말할 기회를 주는 것보다 아카데미가 할 수 있는 더 큰 일은 없습니다.]

When the invasion of Ukraine began, actor and director Sean Penn went to make a documentary criticizing Russia.

Currently living in Poland, I am working for refugee relief.

The Ukrainian president made a strong statement that he would destroy the Academy Award for Best Actor if he did not deliver, but it did not come true.
