Adam Buxton, known for his ⁢podcast and comedy, is set to release his debut album, ‘Buckle Up,’ on sept. 12 via Decca. The album features⁣ the lead single, “Pizza Time.”

Buxton collaborated with Joe Mount, frontman of Metronomy, who produced the LP. Pete Robertson, also credited ⁢as a producer, helmed “Pizza Time,” a song‍ buxton describes ⁣as a ‍”hymn” to his son.

“I don’t actually consider this actual music,” Buxton said. “One of the album titles I considered was ‘Adjacent To Music’, as every single bit of music that I’ve listened to, in my mind, is better qualified to be considered music than this.”

according to a press ⁤release, Buxton acknowledges his musical limitations. ‍Jonny greenwood of⁤ Radiohead, after hearing a demo of “Pizza Time,” reportedly told ⁤Buxton that he was “hamstrung by your limitations on the guitar.”

Decca initially approached Buxton about making an album five years ago. buxton joked ⁣that he envisioned a sound influenced by “Berlin-period Bowie⁣ and Eno going for lunch with Radiohead and Nina Simone at Brian⁣ Wilson‘s beach brasserie.”
