The Human Sciences Research Council’s (HSRC) Africa BRICS and Global South (ABGS) research unit will host a seminar on June 17 in Pretoria to discuss leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The seminar will focus on promoting regional health-industrial integration and fostering inclusive development across the continent.The ABGS unit studies issues concerning Africa, BRICS nations, and the Global South, including economic integration and health security.
Dr. Geoffrey Banda, a senior lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, will present the seminar. He will highlight how the AfCFTA can boost Africa’s local health security through increased regional trade, industrialization, and innovation. The hybrid seminar will take place at the HSRC Building.
