AIFF warns Jinkan; Strict action if the mistake is repeated | Sandesh Jhingan News

New Delhi: All India Football Federation (AIFF) has issued a stern warning to ATK Mohun Bagan player Sandesh Jhinkan over his controversial remarks after the match against Kerala Blasters in ISL football. The AIFF decided to issue the warning after an investigation into the incident found Jinkan guilty. The federation said it was avoiding further action this time around in the wake of Jinkan’s apology, warning that it would face strong disciplinary action if a similar mistake was repeated in the future.

When he returned after the game against the Blasters, Jinkan said, “We competed with the women.” Protests erupted over Jinkan’s insult to the Blasters team and women. The Kerala Blasters’ fan club, the Yellow Army, also came out against Jinkan. The Yellows also demanded the return of the No. 21 jersey Blasters, which were withdrawn in honor of their predecessor Jinkan. A section of fans also protested by ‘unfollowing’ Jinkan’s social media accounts. Meanwhile, Jinkan’s Instagram account also disappeared.

‘The AIFF disciplinary committee has strongly warned ATK Mohun Bagan star Sandesh Jhinkan about his statement made after the match against Kerala Blasters (February 19). Avoiding harsh action is avoided considering the player’s remorse through social media. Jinkane has been told that he will face severe disciplinary action if he repeats the same mistake, ”the ISL said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Jinkan had come to the scene demanding that he not insult his family members, including his wife, for the mistake he had made. Jinkan once again admitted the mistake on his part in a video posted on Twitter, urging his family not to punish him for his mistake. Earlier, Jinkan had apologized for his statement.
