Kerala Defeats Gujarat in Santosh Trophy Qualifier
Kerala showcased a brilliant performance in their first match of the Santosh Trophy qualifier, triumphing over Gujarat with a commendable score of 3-0. Leading the victory was Akbar Siddique, who displayed exceptional skills and secured a well-deserved double. The team’s captain, Nijo Gilbert, contributed with a goal of his own in the match.

In the second half, Kerala shifted their focus towards a more defensive strategy. Though they attempted counter-attacks to shake up the game, they couldn’t manage to breach Gujarat’s solid defense and secure another goal.
Looking ahead, Kerala will now face tough opponents in their upcoming group matches against Goa and Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, Gujarat set off for their second round match today following their victory over Jammu and Kashmir with a scoreline of 2-1 in the opening match of the qualifier.
