Alain Sutter Returns to Grasshopper as Sports Director
ZURICH (AP) — Alain Sutter, following his departure from FC St. Gallen in January, has been named the new sports director for Grasshopper Club Zurich.
Sutter, 57, a former Swiss international with 63 caps, has signed a long-term contract with the club. Grasshopper is currently battling relegation after two defeats against FC Winterthur. He replaces Stephan Schwarz,who previously held the position.
Sutter has a history with Grasshopper, having played for the club for eight years before moving to Germany to play for Nuremberg, Bayern Munich, and SC Freiburg.
