Announcing the 2022 ‘HERO Awards’ for LGBTQ people in Asia and the Pacific

apcom foundation (APCOM Institute) award ceremony. ‘Hero Awards’ (HERO Awards 2022) Number 6 under the concept of Unity and Diversity at the Australian Embassy in Thailand on November 25, 2022.

It is an event that inspires and empowers the international LGBT community, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), embassies, government and the private sectors. Come together to celebrate the Hero of the Year dedicated to the LGBTQ community in the Asia-Pacific region.

‘Hero Awards’ (HERO Awards 2022) aims to honor and outstanding contributions of people working against HIV. Advocate for equality among LGBT people in the Asia-Pacific region

At the event, there was a fundraiser for the APCOM Foundation. non-profit organization and leading the fight against HIV Strengthening the health and rights of LGBTQ people across the Asia-Pacific region.

The awards are supported by many businesses, community organizations and diplomatic agencies.

The APCOM Foundation, in collaboration with 3 networking organizations: APN+, APTN, and ILGA Asia, is judging this year’s award winners as follows:

1. Excellent business alliance (Business Ally), incl Panda food from Thailand

A company that is like a home for every employee. regardless of gender differences It is a workplace where all employees can be completely themselves.

2. Outstanding community alliance (Community Ally), incl Thebeau Tamton from Kiribati

Consultant and co-founder of the Boutokaan Inaomataia ao Mauriia Binabinaine Association (BIMBA).

3. Outstanding community hero branch (Community Hero supported by ILGA Asia), incl Rosanna Flamer-Caldera from Sri Lanka

Founder and Director of EQUAL GROUND, a long established LGBT community Fighting for the rights of LGBT people. It is part of the actual human rights framework in Sri Lanka.

4. Outstanding Community Organization Branch: Blue Sky Association Limited Company from Vietnam

a home-like organization of people living with HIV in Vietnam Providing essential services to those in need of treatment. who do not dare to register in the public health program because of the fear that information would be disclosed to the public

5. Outstanding hero branch Covid-19 (Covid-19 Hero), incl Association of People Living with HIV/AIDS (APL+) from Laos

During the COVID-19 lockdown, APL+ collected statistics from key populations exposed to HIV to identify issues affected by the pandemic. COVID-19 along with plans to deal with these populations

6. Excellent health and well-being (Health and Well-being), incl Wong Chen Seong Dr from singapore

Doctors collaborating with members of LGBT community organizations Establish community networking organizations to help train healthcare professionals across sectors to communicate confidently and effectively to serve LGBT patients.

7. Outstanding HIV Hero Branch (APN+ supported HIV Hero) incl Yasir Ali Khan from pakistan

People living with HIV activists bring people together to support key populations vulnerable to HIV (Key Populations), who also specialize in harm reduction in Pakistan.

8. Exceptional Social Justice Branch (Social Justice), incl Nada Chaiyajit from Thailand

Nada Chaichit Adviser to human rights campaign that wins gender dress law case Helping to set a precedent for legal principles of gender identity and expression in Thailand.

9. Outstanding transgender hero branch (APTN supported Transgender Hero), incl Malay Ruli from indonesia

Volunteering in the Transpuan community in Yogyakarta. Indonesia helping to organize the community Strengthening the potential of corporate executives Implementing economic empowerment by increasing the resilience of communities against vulnerabilities.

10. A branch of the new generation with exceptional achievements (Young Achiever), including Jeremy Tan from Malaysia

Young health workers advocate for more effective health institutions in Malaysia by integrating conventional health care models with access to HIV health services, such as testing, counseling, and treatment delivery, etc.

11. Anandakan Cheep Branch to honor outstanding achievements (Shivananda Khan Award for Outstanding Achievement) including Senator Risa Hontiveros from the Philippines

Senator, health and women’s rights advocate who is an activist and supporter of the lower classes. The Philippines’ first female socialist senator who has been praised for working tirelessly to promote public health for the rights of women and other marginalized groups and the LGBT community.

Poon Midnight Kaset Wattana The Director of the APCOM Foundation said the judges told a powerful story of never giving up in the face of adversity.
