Apple Releases iOS 17.1.1 Update: Fixes NFC Chip Bug and “White Apple” Issue

Apple Releases iOS 17.1.1 Update to Fix NFC Bug and Weather Widget Display Issue

Apple has officially rolled out the iOS 17.1.1 update, addressing two crucial bugs that have been affecting iPhone users. The update, which comes in at a size of 395.5MB, focuses on resolving issues related to the NFC chip and the “Weather” lock screen widget.

NFC Bug Fix

The primary fix in this update addresses a bug that was causing iPhones to freeze and display a white screen. This issue was linked to the NFC chip malfunctioning, particularly when iPhone 15 was wirelessly charged using certain car chargers. Users, especially those with BMW vehicles, reported experiencing the “White Apple” screen problem as a result of this malfunction.

Weather Widget Display Issue

In addition to the NFC bug fix, iOS 17.1.1 also resolves an anomaly with the “Weather” lock screen widget. Previously, the widget was unable to display snowfall accurately, but this issue has now been rectified with the latest update.

While iOS 17.1.1 is a minor update, Apple has already begun beta testing for iOS 17.2, which is expected to introduce new features such as the “Log” app, weather and clock desktop widgets, and unlocking support for the iPhone 15 Pro’s action buttons including “translation.” The update is anticipated to be released in December.

Apple officially released the iOS 17.1.1 version today, which mainly fixes two BUG disasters, one of which is related to the NFC chip. In the worst case, it can even cause the iPhone to freeze with “apple White”.

The size of the latest update file is 395.5MB. According to Apple’s documentation, the first solution is that when iPhone 15 is charged using a certain car wirelessly, it will cause NFC, Apple Pay and other sensing functions to malfunction. Recently, according to foreign media reports, the main disaster was focused on BMW owners, and some netizens said that they encountered the problem of entering “White Apple” on their mobile phones.

Another update is to resolve the “Weather” lock screen widget display abnormality. The original version could not show snowfall normally. Now iOS 17.1.1 is officially installed.

iOS 17.1.1 is a relatively minor version update. Recently, Apple has released the iOS 17.2 Beta test version to developers. Foreign media speculate that it is expected to be released in December. It will bring the new “Log” App, weather and clock desktops Widgets and unlock iPhone 15 Pro action buttons support functions such as “translation”.
