Asian electromobility giant bursts into Chile with electric motorcycles

The Chinese company SUNRA, with more than 20 years of experience and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, opted for two-wheeled electromobility in our country. With this, they become part of the challenge present in the National Electromobility Strategy so that by 2035, 100% of light vehicle sales are zero emissions.

Santiago, Chile. October 23, 2023. Electromobility has taken firm steps in our country in recent years, however, for Chileans, having an electric vehicle at home is still a dream that is difficult to achieve, mainly due to high prices and the limited charging network. But it’s not all about four-wheeled cars: with SUNRA electric motorcycles you can be part of this new zero-emissions trend, being able to charge them at any outlet from your home or office.

The Chinese electromobility giant SUNRA arrived in our country in 2019 and little by little began to make itself known in the market. “Chile has the Electromobility Strategy in process and we are aligned with it, that is, contributing so that in 2035 100% of vehicle sales are zero emissions,” comments Nicolás Donoso, general manager of SUNRA Chile.

The executive adds that “electromobility is here to stay and the Chilean market will continue to grow, because we see pains that we share: care for the environment, collapse at the urban level, vehicle congestion and the economic impact at a general level, especially given by the rise in fuel prices. So, with electric motorcycles we are delivering a modern, efficient and state-of-the-art solution to both people and companies. Furthermore, we welcome the public-private impulses for this market to continue growing, although there is undoubtedly still a long way to go, especially in terms of greater flexibility in regulations and greater focus on the necessary cultural advancement.”

José Montoya, commercial manager of SUNRA Chile, highlights that “in general when we talk about electromobility we talk more about four wheels, but there is a key role played by light two-wheeled vehicles: the solution to travel times in the city. . In addition, there is greater accessibility, lower prices and easier charging, since they can be charged at any outlet.”

The brand landed with various models available in different colors, where the most important are: Miku Super, Robo-S and Anger. These 3 models have 3 driving modes, reach 80 km/h, have LED lights, digital display, CBS disc brake, and 2 removable batteries that together provide an average range of 80km.

At the moment, the focus of the operation is in Santiago, but they have already sold motorcycles to regions and are looking for partners to expand the network of distributors throughout Chile. The company already has banking alliances to provide payment facilities.

A full charge takes 4 hours. The motorcycles come with a 2-year warranty on the motor and battery.
