Who gets how much parental allowance? The Bundestag has changed the entitlement regulations for the new year.
Parents with particularly high incomes will no longer be entitled to parental allowance from next year. The Bundestag significantly lowered the income limit.
Couples can only receive parental allowance up to a taxable annual income of 175,000 euros if they take a break from work to have a child and do not earn any money as a result. There is a limit of 150,000 euros for single parents. This is a significant change, as previously there was an income limit of 300,000 euros for couples and 250,000 euros for single parents.
