Astronomer, the technology company whose CEO ⁢was reportedly involved in an affair that was inadvertently broadcast at a ⁤Coldplay concert, announced Saturday that⁢ Andy Byron has resigned from his⁤ position. The company confirmed the acceptance of his resignation in a‍ statement⁢ released on⁤ LinkedIn.

“Andy Byron has tendered his⁣ resignation, and the Board of⁤ Directors has accepted,” the statement read. “The Board will begin a search for our next Chief ‍Executive as Cofounder ⁢and Chief Product Officer Pete dejoy continues to serve as interim CEO.”

The incident that brought the affair to ‍light occurred during a Coldplay concert on Wednesday. Byron, along with the company’s chief people officer, Kristin Cabot, was shown on the ⁤venue’s large screen. Byron, ⁢who is married with children, appeared to attempt ⁣to hide when the couple was featured.Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin humorously commented, “Either they’re⁢ having an affair or they’re just very shy.” A video of the moment, captured by a concert ⁢attendee,⁢ quickly went viral across social media platforms.

This public exposure followed a ⁣period of significant growth for Astronomer. in may, the company announced it had secured a $93 million investment round, with Bain⁤ Ventures leading the funding and participation from⁢ notable investors such as Salesforce Ventures.

Byron’s resignation comes⁢ after Astronomer initiated a “formal investigation” into the matter on Friday, which also saw the CEO ⁢placed on ⁤administrative leave.

“Before this week, we were ⁤known as a⁣ pioneer in the DataOps space, ⁢helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI,” the company stated in its Saturday declaration. “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not⁢ met.” The company’s commitment to its core mission and its employees⁣ remains a priority ⁤as it navigates this leadership transition.
